Ubuntu

Nature’s existence depends on the interconnectedness of everything that constitutes it. The urban pace has cost humans our sensitivity towards our ecosystem. We seldom consider the fact that animals too belong here as much as we do.

‘Ubuntu’ is a term that is popular in today’s internet culture. However, unknown to many, ‘Ubuntu’ is originally borrowed from the South African Nguni languages like Zulu and Xhosa and has no direct translation into English, but is used to describe a particular African worldview. ‘Ubuntu’ generally points to man’s humanity towards the surrounding ecosystem.

Meenakshi teaches us the importance of treating animals with respect and compassion. Through an attitude of ‘Ubuntu’, we can all coexist with mutual respect.
